quick question, there is a fuzzy look to the outline of the flowers in the quoted image, is that the effect of the so called "onion effect"?
Don't think so, as you'd see the same fuzzy look around other objects....which I can't really see.
More likely is either chromatic abberation (easily fixable in LightRoom), or some kind of compression artifact due to the whole "cropping and resizing" issue.
To me, that's unlikely to be an issue for "normal" subjects for this lens - for me, I'd use my 100mm macro for a shot like this, as that's what it's designed for.....so the test shot "merely" shows that the new Tammy is flexible, if you're OK with doing some extra PP for unusual shots.
