Does anyone have any experience with these two Samyang lenses at all?

Samyang 500mm f/6.3 MC IF Mirror Lens

Samyang 800mm f/8 MC IF Mirror Lens

Would love to see any photo's taken with either lenses above, any advice/thoughts/views would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Well, you'll not be surprised to gear you get what you pay for. In good light you should get acceptable results, but cheap mirror lenses always suffer from poor contrast. All mirror lenses produce a ring-shaped bokeh that was fashionable when they first came out, but is currently not in favour. They do of course have a huge advantage in size and weight.

I have owned several mirror lenses over the years, but not these particular ones.

Mark.

Thanks for that, they are very cheap to buy, £110 for the 500mm and £145 for the 800mm.

This lens was purchased used, out of curiosity. It needed a T-mount adapter to work with an EOS camera. What you see was the best the lens could achieve. These images explain why the lens was tested a few times, then retired.

Wow, the IQ of that lens looks horrible. I'd pass on buying those and just buy a fixed telephoto and a 2X teleconvertor.
