Hi all

Long time since I have posted any pics mainly due to paying off the 20D and getting used to it

Here are a couple from last weekend using my 24-70 not great but I am getting there, this lens is a brick but once you have the grip and a 580 on as well it is remarkable balanced. let me know what you think

Cheers

Shortie

I like 'em!
#1 could use some noise reduction.

Yep. It's great for teenagers and old folks! ;)
What software are you using for noise reduction?

NeatImage is one of the best, from what I've read, but I'm a Noise Ninja user.
Hopefully someone else can offer some tips.

Forgive my ignorance, but there are programs out there specifically to reduce noise? Please enlighten me! :)

Hi Brandy

try these two links to NeatImage and NoiseNinja they appear to be the most popular

Also give google a try or do a search here as there are lots of comments and tests in the forum

Hi Shortie...Mind sharring your EXIF?
I am having kind of the same problem and I also find your pics to be a little too dark. Are you using a diffuser? Are you bouncing the flash? I find with this lense it seems to really make a diff.

The EXIF

Number 1
Focal length = 34mm
F / 2.8
Shutter 1/250
flash = high speed sync e.g. spray and pray
iso = 400

Number 2
Focal length = 45mm
F / 2.8
Shutter 1/250
flash = Bounced off wall
iso = 200

Number 3
Focal length = 34mm
F / 2.8
Shutter 1/250
flash = direct ETTL2
iso = 200

Yep this lens does all sorts of things with flash hence the amount of practice I have been giving it over the past weeks haven't posted much as the shots are all the same subject just trying different things

Hi shortie
Switch to Man. mode and set your shutter speed to 1/60. Apeture f 4
ISO 400 and see how you do. I am also trying to find the best settings but I would like to see how you make out with these.
