Just got a used 5D mkII in great condition the images seem great, I'm still getting use to the full frame but loving it so far.

My question to other 5D2 owners.

1. I use centre single focus point and when I focus the centre red point light up in view finds as normal but I see some of the surrounding focus point light up very dimly, I notice this as my 50D all the surrounding point and complete off and just the centre lights up.

Is this normal behaviour for the 5D2 or is something needed to be adjusted.

I also have seen if I have all focus points active I see a red blob above the top centre point that glows when all points come on.

2. I think this is normal but for a brief seconds as I take the picture the image in the viewfinder shift I guess as the mirror moves, again is this normal I do not notice on my 50D but I assume the mirror and shutter are different on each model.

Mine has done the same thing since it was new. I have never noticed that it impacted anything other than being a bit of a mystery and a small distraction. I will be curious to see what others say.

Pleased you said that.... as mine is used i'm just not sure of the normal operation and of course I only have my other bodes to compare. But the 5D2 is a completely different beast.

I don't see other points lightly glow when focusing on any point. I only see a bit of light shadow on the top most af point, but it does not faintly light other af points. I think I've seen other af points faintly light up on my old T2i.
