DNG to CR2?

Hopefully you folks will still help me out since I sold my Canon SLR and picked up a Fuji X10.

The software with the FUJI rots. So I have to convert their RAW files to DNG so I can open it in CS3 and do some minor adjustments in Camera Raw before switching to TIFF/JPG.

I really miss using DPP but it won't open DNG files. Is there a way to convert the DNG files to CR2 so I can open them in DPP?

Nope.

CR2 is Canon's proprietary raw format.

Only works one way from a Canon camera.

Is there something in CS3 that you are missing?

DPP can only open Canon files. Use Photoshop/ACR/Bright/L​ightroom or something.

If you want to open the files directly in ACR I think that is your only option unless you upgrade your CS3 to CS5 (or wait for the soon to be released CS6). The latest Photoshop Elements and Lightroom would work too.

You have just become one of the people Adobe had in mind when they developed and offered for public domain the DNG file format. A couple of companies have chosen it as their raw format. All the others continue to insist on proprietary formats.

Naturally, one reason the camera companies maintain proprietary formats is to maintain the product link with their software for processing raw files. If you want to use DPP then maybe a G1X is the camera for you rather than the X10.
