Playing a bit more with some glaives and swords. Screwed a couple of branches to some wood to play with an "outdoors" type of feel. Comments and critique always welcome...

The texture in the branches distracts from the detail/texture in the sword hilt. So the dragon sword images don't work for me. That blade should have a clean/simple background to allow that rich color/texture to stand out and be more visible.

The other blades work much better with the tree branches because the smooth/shiny blades contrasts nicely with the branches' textures.

#5 is probably the most effective as a result.

Cool images. Carol Stream, huh? I'm in West Chicago near 59.

Thanks Rick and Mike.

I kinda like the sword with the branch, I don't think the bark distracts at all. I think if anything the sunlit shot sucks, the others are good. I'll admit a few of the "poses" could have been better, but I was in experimental phase, so I didn't expect any million-dollar shots right off the bat. I'm still working it out in my head what type of scenery and branches and stuff I want, still looking for that magical setup. Gonna try finding some tree-trunk slices and logs to play with, see what I come up with.

The glaive shots were from the day before the sword shots, and those were experimental too, although I think they came out way better. I think number 8 is the best of the bunch but my opinion doesn't count because I'm slightly biased.

Mike...yup, Carol Stream...
