Can only guess this is part of the Lewis and Clark trail. It is along the Columbia River Gorge in Washington State.

That is a very interesting subject. Does the location ever get better light? I'd keep working this one, if it's a place you can reach without too much trouble.

Thanks, it was overcast, so no, I think it always overcast here. ;)

Yeah, hard to tell from the photo if it's an overcast day or just a north-facing location (or otherwise shielded from good light). It's fascinating how the bridge comes from nowhere and goes nowhere. I'd be all over that thing if I lived nearby. Fun stuff!

It is interesting for sure. It seems to go on for a long ways, a little here, and a little there.

Columbia River - where overcast starts :-)

I would bet there can be some very well lit days, just not when anyone is there!

I think that's an old log sluice, the original water thrill ride. They would devert a stream onto it and float logs down to the river. Yes, there were hardy souls that would ride them down, standing up

It sure does! Although I think the "pucker factor" would over rule my mind these days:)

The old time loggers were an incredible breed. The things they did and had to contend with everywhere is incredible, but it really came to a pinacle here in PNW. Big mountains, big rivers, and more big trees than anyone could imagine. I guess just the fact the fact that we have any trees left in this part of the world at all at this point shows how many there were!

Tough places, tough lives.

That would be a great place to go exploring.

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

Could that be part of the old flume that brought water to the mill?
