I tought this was an odd place to build a nest, but guess you have seen stranger places?

Hmmmm... not sure if this is odd since I don't know anything about birds. I found this one this past Sat. at the kids Easter egg hunt. Of all places she decided to lay her eggs smack in the middle of the side road,. rocks and gravel. Not sure if this type of bird looks for places like this to hide their eggs as you really need to look close to see them. I would appreciate if someone can identify this lovely bird !

Here's another one I took in the Everglades, though these are pretty common to see along the Keys on the Electric poles,...

Your bird id is a Killdeer - gravel is a favorite nesting spot.
