Hey,
Just registered for this site!

I have a question concerning Image Quality.

I just bought the 5D Mrk III

and when I go to shoot video 1080p 30, on the viewfinder everything looks crystal clear and in focus, but....

After using EOS Utility to import my video files, the picture is really grainy.

Now, after that, I decided to hook up the PC for Live View, and did that to get a bigger picture. And from what I saw was it was grainy.

At the time, I was shooting 50,2.8,1250. Which gave me grain.... This was also in my bedroom, so I adjusted for WB.

I went to auto to see what the camera did, and in auto the grain was gone.
I have fiddled with the exposure, iso, and f.stop and still get grain, and I do not know what to do.

Thanks for reading guys hopefully someone can help me understand a little better.

iso is the only thing that is going to cause grain "noise" i suggest lowering it until it's gone.

Ok, I understand that, but I know to shoot mainly on 100/160/320/1250. But when I go lower it is just too dark. I have seen some test footage shots by people in the darkness of night, and everything seems fine at 1250+ iso, and I'm having trouble shooting a grey box in my room.

Can you record a 10 second clip at those settings and put it on dropbox? Would love to take a look. You really shouldn't be seeing that much grain at 1250. There should be some but not a significant amount. If you don't have movement in your scene you could drop your shutter speed to 30. Not going to help that much though.

Sorry it is taking so long, I thought it was instantly sent through dropbox, but I didn't notice it had 30 min left for transfer. As soon as it is sent I'll post.

Thanks
