So--after months of working on improving the SEO of my zenfolio site (and asking quite a few questions in this forum), I feel like I've amassed a pretty good comprehensive list of the areas I changed that actually helped push my zenfolio site higher in google rankings (from page 10 to the top of page 2 for my desired keyword phrase in a very saturated market).

I've started writing these up point-by-point with examples that hopefully help the suggestions I make generalizable to many kinds of photography websites--regardless of whether or not you're making a business of it.

If you're interested check out the following page: zenfolio seo (external link)

I've got part 1 up for now and will be adding more in the coming days.

Thanks for doing this...my Zen needs some SEO work badly, but my skills and motivation are both letting me down on that front!

Had a very quick look and seems to be the exact tutorial I need...will read in detail after work.

Thanks again!

Sincerest thanks for this post/tutorial (and your future one/s).

Really wanted to optimise this part of my site and had no real idea how to do or what each part did. Best part were the examples of 'poor', 'good', and 'better' for each section :)

Hey, it's good to know at least two people are reading !

It's super difficult to avoid being expansive (going into super detail); but I'd rather give people the tools to make their own minds up about what changes to make rather than tell them exactly what to do.

I've added another section--not quite fully edited / proofread; but there it is.

Good writeup. I need to go through all you tips and "fix" my site.

I want to use my Zenfolio more, especially now that they have the blog feature.

Any idea how to do a photo blog from Lightroom straight to the Zen blog?
