hot deal like that wont last long on CL, if you dont buy it, someone else would had already bought it in usually a couple of hours (quicker in bigger cities); unless the seller is a scammer... Sometimes we gotta take risk in life, of course we gotta use our brain.

I asked the seller his phone number.

Ok, after reading this thread I've been thinking a little more carefully as I was trying to pick up a $600 lens 2nd hand. Ended up buying the lens new, but wanted a lens hood. Although it is not $1,000 item, or even $100 item, I thought I'd ask for a current photo. I specifically stated I didn't need anything as drastic as a newspaper shot (the EXIF) would have the date), then got a reply that he didn't want to sell it to me anymore. No problem, doesn't mean it was a scam but

THANKS! After a few PMs back and forth I was finally able to find that thread.

When i purchase an item it's in a public place and I will always try the unit out by taking his or her picture ... so far so good .... I must of made over 15 transactions over the years , all went well , but I,m still cutious ....
