I'm vacationing in AZ (Scottsdale) with the family and was looking for some shooting locations here or in Tucson (heading down later this week) for a family photo safari.

Anyone have some good advice for an out-of-towner?

If you literally are looking for a safari, check out Out of Africa park located about 1-1.5 hours north of town off I-17. Montezuma National Park is also in that area and would make for some great photos.

What exactly are you looking to capture? I'll give ya some pointers.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (Tucson) is very nice. Rug rats, or those who grew up on '50s and '60s Westerns would appreciate Old Tucson, where many of them were shot.

Thanks for all of the tips, guys! We'd already pretty much finished before the replies started but, never fear, I have family there and will be back again and again. It's good to have a list and a plan before I go, no? :D

Thanks again!
