5D Mk III Final Cut Workflow

The boss just purchased a new camera for the media department and I'm still unsure of the import process off of a SDHC card into Final Cut. With the 7D I could log and transfer using the plug-in off of Canon's site, but I'm not able to do that with the footage. I'd prefer to not have to run everything through compressor.

Does it make a difference whether I shoot both ALL-I or IPB or do I need to be shooting one the entire time?
