Did i mention it was wet?

Having not seen the British GT's for a couple of years, a trip to Oulton Park on Easter Monday seemed like a good way to finsih off a long weekend. Well, at least the racing didn't disappoint...but the weather was something else...

1. Race 1 start. The United Autosports Audi R8 LMS leads the charge towards "Old Hall"...it would lead right up until the final lap when a fuel supply problem forced a retirement.

2. The pack heads into "Old Hall".

3. Nothing but a wall of spray at "Cascades".

4. I had to throw an Aston Martin in somewhere...

5. The Ecurie Ecosse BMW Z4 took the Race 1 win after the Audi broke down..
[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

6. The new GT4 Lotus Evora being stalked by the (almost) unbeatable R8.

7. The weather went from bad to ridiculously bad for the start of the 2nd GT race. Somewhere out there is a Nissan GT-R...

8. And the prize for the best sounding car of the day went to the Mercedes SLS.

I think i've just about dried out. I doubt if my camera gear will ever forgive me tough!

All the above are taken from public areas using the 1DMKIV & Sigma 500 f4.5 EX DG.

Thanks for looking.

Considering the conditions these shots are stunning, I really need to save up for a 1D mkIV!

A great set of shots.
I wondered what did for the Audi, never heard any announcement on what his problem had been.

John.

Fantastic shots but the conditions looked dreadful! Glad I only did the F3's on Saturday.

Really beautiful action shots in those corners with the cars nose to tail.

Great set in very harsh conditions. It's hard to shoot in the rain, but getting those kind of shots makes it all worth it.

#1 & 3 are my favourites.
