On my 5DIII, when I turn the big function wheel on the back counterclockwise, all the clicks feel even and consistent. But when I turn it clockwise, every fourth click has a distinct extra firmness and sound different than the others. Just wondering if it is normal, or if mine has something weird with the detents on the big wheel.

I have my 5D3 right next to me and her big wheel spins freely both ways.

That's what I was afraid of. Mine feels like it is catching on something underneath the wheel. Thanks.

I just tried mine, works fine both ways but it can get sticky depending on how hard my thumb is pushing down. Maybe you are doing that without realizing it?

free both ways, my 7D had a similar issue with certain parts of the wheel being very sticky/stiff.

Never sent it in for repair/fix thought.
