Hi,

Can someone show me the way to set the WB for all the pictures based on the inital WB grey card shot? I know how to perform on a single raw picture. But, I am unable to set WB for all other photos.

Thanks

Set WB on one pic. Then hit the copy button and click the WB checkbox. Go back to library module, select other pictures, and hit ctrl-shift-V to paste the settings from the first pic to the rest.

Thanks for the info. Silly question, where can I find the copy button.

A quick search on google for batch processing in Lightroom 3 yields plenty of tutorials and YouTube videos.

While in the Develop module, it'll be a button on the left, just above the filmstrip. It can also be accessed by ctrl-shift-c.

Another quick approach: in the Develop Module, select your "target" pic and the rest of your set. So, with the target pic active/displayed, press the Ctl/Cmd button. At the lower right you will see that the Sync button has changed to Auto Sync. Click that button to activate the feature.

Then, when you set the White Balance (or do another adjustment) it will be automatically applied to all the files in the set. So it's a way of quickly doing common "global" adjustments.

Alternatively you can leave that button set to Sync, work on your active photo, then click Sync. A dialog will pop up which will let you "pick and choose" which adjustments you want to apply to your selected set from your active pic. It's handy when you want to apply certain things but not everything using the Auto Sync function.

You can also right-click your target image and choose Develop Settings and you'll get a fly out to copy your settings.

Click the first image in Grid View where you want to apply the setting(s) and then Shift-Click the last image in the series. Now Right-Click any in the series and choose Develop Settings again and you'll see Apply Settings in the fly out.

Heh! Chenga, this is a really good time to encourage you to get at least one of the three Lightroom "primers". There are three excellent books by Victoria Bampton, Scott Kelby and Martin Evening. If you get one or more of those and work your way through it you will know more about Lightroom than you could imagine!

And, there are excellent sites that offer tutorials, both subscription sites like Lynda.com and KelbyTraining.com, and then plenty of places with oodles of stuff -- slrlounge.com, LightroomKillerTips.com, the list goes on and on!

And, please take the time to go through the Lightroom Help -- it is the one and only "official" Users Guide. And it's available online as a pdf.

But before bouncing around for the free stuff (aside from Help), seriously, one of the primers, and consider one of the basic sets of tutorials from the two sites I mentioned!

The area of batch editing is one in which the LR designers really went overboard. There are like 6 different ways of doing the same thing. I use the "Previous" button a lot and Cntrl+A/Sync only sometimes for a single parameter.

you might consider updating to 3.6 as it fixes some bug such as the adjustment brush and automasking.
