Barred Owl.

An image I wanted and took me a couple days to finally get. Cropped about 10% for composition.

Certainly an awesome capture Mike!
Straight on IFs are not the easiest by their very nature, but you nailed the focus on the face admirably.
Like others I scoff at "days" to achieve this result....maybe lifetimes would be a more accuarte measure of time for me to do the same - :)

Long time no see Gary. I got literally hundreds of gliding shots over the years but finally found a owl and location where he has to flap his wings more then glide.

The original file was really purplish for some reason and I tried color balancing it but guess I didn't go far enough. Glad you pointed it out as I will rework it again.

Almost any image I envision I am able to capture within a couple days but its taken me years to learn behaviors and I still learn every time I go out.
