I have this posted in the general forum as well, but thought you all might be able to help... Anyhow, I'm headed to Minneapolis this weekend with my girlfriend... and I'd like to take some shots from the roof of the hotel we're staying in. Have any of you ever asked for roof access and been granted? How'd you do it? Did you "slip 'em a $20"? I'm curious at the various methods to get this done.

Thanks!

Hahaha! Excellent. And how does one go about finding said door? Hope it's not as hard to find as the door to Narnia :)

Mine had a sign "Roof Access"

actually there was 2 doors - one west - one south - the one to the south had also a handwriting paper saying no acces, but it was still unlocked

Generally the roof is accessed in one of the stairwells. If the building has multiple stairwells the one with roof access will say so on the door. It's a fire requirement.

If you can't get on the roof of your hotel you can always just go to the Observation Deck of the Foshay Tower...

Yep, that's where we stayed actually. I had no idea it had an observation deck at all. Since we stayed there, the deck was free. Some decent pictures too, when they're processed, I'll try to add 'em here.

Thanks again for all the replies!
