I am looking for some filters and saw some cheap filters on ebay

http://www.ebay.com …lters&hash=item4ab5d0a7a1 (external link)

How good or how bad is this? I don't want to spend hundreds of euros for something I don't use that often.

I am looking for great price/quality filters.

How are the Focalprice (or dealextreme) cokin filters?

Which brand is likely to buy?

I hope you read the fine print before you buy something like this from China. Would suck to wait a month for shipping only to find what you bought was second rate, damaged or fake.

The item may be missing the original packaging, or in the original packaging but not sealed. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with defects.

Go for hitech if you want good price/quality. Cheaper ones will have more prominent colour casts that can be a pain to remove in post. Even hitech have colour cast when stacking though.

Having bought this exact stuff, I would say, that surprisingly, the weakest links are the holder/adaptor rings ... I bought several of each, but they are all suspect, difficult to put the holders on the rings. I would like to buy an example of the real thing and then try the filters themselves (1, 2 and 3 stop graduated and solid ND), because they seem fine.

The price is right, though ...

Oke thanks all! I think this Ebay stuff are all the same as all the focalprice and dealextreme filters?
So the image quality is coming out ok?

I will look further and think about it.

My brother just bought one of the Cokin systems, the P size I think. Its a piece of junk. It might work ok with only the Cokin filters, but with the Hitechs he bought as well it just wont work. Spend the extra money on a Lee or some other system.

I used hitech filters in my cokin no problem at all.
