I just called Canon last night and was told the 1DMk2 has reached end of life service contract, and will no longer be repaired.
It was a bit of a shock, but for anyone who is using one now or contemplating buying one, it might be something to think about.

Does Canon recommend any place to get these bodies serviced at? and will canon also not clean these bodies anymore?

Does this also mean the 1ds2 is unserviceable? My 1D2 was just serviced, but I was getting close to swapping my 5d2 for a 1ds2.

I thought this might be a wow issue , which is why I figured it was important. As far as the 1DS2, it is still servicable, as well as the 1D3.
I'm not sure about the 1D2n though.
I've been looking at 1D2n's as I wanted to get one.
Looks like there may just be quite a few 1D2's going on the market then, although its somewhat of a risk now since at least they can't be repaired at Canon.
They didn't give any alternatives as far as service goes either, as that was one of the first things I asked.
Not sure but this might be a good case for a sticky.

I just had the 1ds2 shutter replaced and factory reset about 3 weeks ago.

You know what - that is pure nonsense!

If they same 7 years from the time of purchase then they should stick with it, even if you bought it in 2004, because some people might have gotten it in 2007!

So, what, 5d should not be serviceable next year as it was announced in 2005???

I emailed Canon back in February to see if my 1Dii could be serviced and was told to send it to either service center. I guess that I should do that soon. Should I send it to New Jersey or California?

End Of life date was 2/28/12, so I'm not sure you can have a 1D2 serviced now.
But If I had one I sure would call and ask.
