I always enjoy Debbie's birthday because it kicks off the six months every year that she is older than me ...

Thanks for playing this week! Sharing my thoughts on this week's entries, we have

Lonnie Mac, Hermanos de metal unique, fun shot, well done. It suffers a little bit from getting squeezed down to monitor size ... the bigger this one is displayed, the better.

Maureen Souza, Enjoying the Coastal View Love how the focus isolates the couple. This one nails the challenge topic of "together" ... nice shot.

Jason C, "Sisters" dang it this is a lovely shot. If it isn't hanging in at least one family's living room ... it should. Makes me ponder for a moment how wonderful it might have been if we'd had daughters. Very pleasing composition.

Kevan, "fetching couple" ... got a good chuckle out of this one, the title is just perfect. The scowl is just right ... did you "snap and run" or wait to hear what the dude had to say  . Nice shot.

airfrogusmc, "Perfect Together" Ridiculously great shot.

Garry Kirsch, "Harlequins" a nice photo that presents just a bit flat. Not sure if it's a heavy crop or what, exactly. I wondered if a little tighter crop might be a little better but in the end I think your composition works well just as it is.

patrickf117, "Best Friends" The energy in the connection is palpable. Wonderful picture. I think a square crop might make it even better, eliminating the area left and right of your subjects that isn't really adding to the shot.

Fricks, "3 Little Birds" interesting composition that seems a bit underexposed. I don't think the vignetting works here as it darkens the outer birds even more. I might suggest the pipe under the fence detracts from the clean lines of the fence.

Matrim33, "Best Friends" this shot has a lot going for it. I love pics that have an element that might not show up on initial viewing ... the image on her t-shirt is a great component to this one. At first I thought the subjects were a tad underexposed but in the end I think not, that it seems that way because the distracting windows in the background are so bright.

optiklens13, "Together" nice light, particularly highlighting the red hair. I'd like to see a much tighter crop on this one though, given the background. If the background were of more interest, this framing would work much better.

I am totally blown away by Allen's "Pefect Together" ... love that photo ! Killer BW conversion on a fascinating photograph. Great background that really sets off the subjects. The window adds just a bit of quirkiness to the composition that, given the subjects, is just perfect.

Your reward is you get to host #236 :D

cheers!

kb

Despite Allen's egregious behavior, he did present us with one smashing image. Double bravo!

Terrific images all and nice commentary, kb. Actually, the guy was quite cordial and I'm hoping we might do some future business together. I promise, nothing for the G&N forum. The boxer's name is Bandit, named after the "Johnny Quest" cartoon pup.

Excellent choice kb. Congrats Allen!
I really enjoyed this week's entries. Well done everyone!
Thanks for the feedback kb - yes it was a heavy crop, as are most of my entries. I'm still saving up for a 400mm lens. :)

Garry............... May you pack two days of livin' into every day you're given.

Excellent choice kb, and congrats Allen. Well done all, and thank you kb for the thoughtful words for all.

And yes kb, this picture is hanging in two living rooms and is on a mantle in another home.

Maureen, I really liked your image too. It kept me wondering...are they happy or sad?

I think they were happy, Kev. I shot at 400mm so I kept my distance..... Skip & I love to take a yearly drive down the Central California coastline. It is, IMO, one of the most beautiful drives in this country and it is 2 hours away from us. We just did the drive again over Easter weekend :) It really should make everyone happy :)
