Great picture. Where did you take this and how close were you? What set up was this taken with? Trying to learn for upcoming safari. Thanks

There is a hint of a smile there - or is it the Mona Lisa..?

I am blessed to live near the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park so it gives me access to a lot of animals to snap away at. This was taken with with a 1D MK IV and 70-200mm and EXIF says I was at 160mm. The image is cropped a bit from the original. On a true Safari, I have heard others taking longer focal length lenses because the animals are not "set up" to get close like a zoo environment.

That is a really good shot. Only thing that would have made it better would be if you could have been more eye level. No fault of your own in the zoo setting though. Good work.
