A composite of four captures shot at full burst this morning. Out of about 300 or so pictures shot I got about 20 keepers and this one series. Such is the way with these fast little guys.

Apart from finding rare birds, I think photographing small birds in flight is one of the hardest things to do in bird photography. These are very good. I can well understand your quoted keeper rate.

Wow.. I love the posture of that incoming bird. It really shows the aerodynamics of how they put on the breaks! And the pattern of the feathers is beautiful!
