1st one, Blah. 2nd one should have been in focus.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

I don't know to me it looks like a water color painting, or maybe I'm just narrow minded and this is just crappy photography? does the world always need to be in focus and sharp?

If the world isn't in focus to you then maybe you need a new eye glass prescription.

Seriously though, if there were something in that second picture that was in focus with the background being out of focus then it'd be a spectacular photo possibly. Being that nothing is in focus then it looks like some of my first photos with my K-1000. Those usually ended up in the trash.

IMO if you're going to blur the whole thing out there still needs to be interesting content in the photograph that we can somewhat make out. That's how I see it.

thank you for your kind words, time, and suggestions! you are correct that is a dashboard and despite it being out of focus I felt the result was really cool and so this shot that would have been ruined turned to what my eyes and mind see as a form of art! thank you again very much! -Americo

oh by the folks the intended target was a crow, because I love crows, ravens, and all black birds :) Sure using a 50mm lens was a long shot, but heck any chance to shoot is worth it right? yeah I know $3000 plus won't make my photography work, but, heck it'd a hobby, and like marriage if it's not enjoyable it simply won't work and the divorce lawyers can attest ;)

All the more reason I'd throw it away. I shot a similar photo years ago but I had a subject in my photo as well.

To me, the OOF trees in the background are nice because there is a main subject taking advantage of that nice backdrop.

I'll admit mines nothing to sneeze at either. I just liked the way the pine needles were hanging on the branch. It looked interesting to me.

As a side note, when trying to shoot something far away with a 50mm or wide angle lens you should probably switch to manual focus and get the bird that way.
