I attended my first fashion show last week and, boy was that fun. I had some difficulty getting the proper exposure on the runway, but that got better by the end of the show. I was allowed access to some of the models before and after the show and managed to get of some fun shots with just a single off camera flash (430EX II on Yongnuo RF-602). I'm going to have to do some research/learning on runway photography before my next outing! Here's a sampling of how my evening went:

One of the models posing during her smoke break out back

Same model, same smoke break, different pose

One of the few runway shots that I did relatively well

A close-up of one of the winning makeup applications (shot with 100mm macro)

If you're on Facebook (external link), you can see my whole set (31 pix) and how I struggled with the runway portion of the evening. If you're not on Facebook, or would simply prefer that I post more photos here, I'd be more than happy to oblige. I just spent the last 3 hours in a car and I'm going to bed, but I can post more pix in the morning.

That's perfectly understandable. Here are eight more from the evening:

This is the model with the orange eyeball from my first post. She was made-up as an owl. (handheld off camera flash - 430EXII)

The backside of the "owl" model. She had feathers glued to her back. The tattoo is real. (handheld off camera flash - 430EXII)

Another model in the dressing room before the show (handheld off camera flash - 430EXII)
IMAGE: http://photos.glazeworld.com/ovcc/pm7.jpg

The same model on the runway (no flash)
IMAGE: http://photos.glazeworld.com/ovcc/pm8.jpg

My favorite shot of this model on the runway (no flash)
IMAGE: http://photos.glazeworld.com/ovcc/pm9.jpg

Dee Snider or Lady Gaga on the runway. Either way, I loved the hair (no flash)

Another model in the dressing room before the show (handheld off camera flash)

Model made-up to look like an art-decco era comic book (fill flash from 430EXII on hot shoe)

Thank you both for the kind words. I'm usually a concert photographer and this was definitely out of my comfort zone, but with that being said, I'm dying to try it again!
