Hey everyone! I just finished my DIY Crane thought I'd try it out in this video. Let me know what you think of the camera crane movements, and of the whole video. Thanks!
PS. I finally got some rolling shots! Sorry it took so long haha

nice video, especially how you integrated the exhaust note to the music at the end!

one thing i would critique is watch your reflections. there were a few panning shots where you can see the videographer pretty blatantly.

I liked the motion of your new toy! It looked great. And yeah, watch those reflection shots. Try to hide yourself behind a tire or something.

Otherwise a nice car video!

Thanks! Here is the DIY I followed. It was relatively easy, just needs a couple refinements. However for 30$ you cant beat it!

then the updates from the old one to the 2.0 (better pulley system)

The video is awesome!

All I could really tell is that:
0:36 the camera needs to be smoother (try smoothcam maybe?)
0:40 could have been a little more fluid
0:57 was a little rough

the rest of my critique was about focusing, but those were the only things I noticed. Your highlights are at:
0:26-0:31
0:46-0:53
1:21-1:24
1:27-1:30

The good news: You have more good shots than bad on the video. All-in-all, awesome job man, keep it up!

Dude, was :36 a digital effect or a shake on the jib? It may have been an accident but that shot gave me chills, no joke. That type of shake combined with the sound of the engine looks awesome. Put that into your bag of tricks for a "real" shoot someday, it'd be sweet in a short film when a fast car passes right in front of the camera.

Good stuff.

You'll never know!!!! HAHA lol, no I didn't mean to do it intentionally, It was created due to the jib shaking, but sometimes little happy accidents are a good thing. Thanks for the comments!
