So what would be a good lens to round out my equipment, see my sig, I'm pretty much covered from 24mm up to 400mm so I'm thinking something wide and nice and sharp.

Recommendations ??

Thanks !

The Canon 10-22. Outstanding IQ and fits nicely into your lineup.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

A 10-22 would fit in nicely, since you seem to prefer FF lenses, maybe a 17-40L or even a 16-35L. Or what about going with a prime?

Would it have to be wider than 24mm?

Yes definitely, I'm liking the sound of the 10-22 though...

If I would buy a prime wider than 24mm, it would be the zeiss 18mm or Canon 14mm, but they pricey, especially the Canon. The 10-22 would probably be the best choice, it would be really wide.

In your situation I would get the 10-22, it is always in demand, and if you decide to go FF in the future you can sell it and get the 17-40 for the same money and have almost an identical focal length but with a fixed aperture and better build quality. The 10-22 has great IQ though, and would certainly pair best with what you have now.

As prime goes you really don't have many options, espacially if you want to go only with canon.
so it boils down to either the 14 2.8L or the 20 f2.8 .
unless you want to go with 3rd party lenses but pretty much all of them are manual focus except for fish eye lenses

10-22 would make the most sense......

T3i, Sigma 10-20, Sigma 30 1.4, 18-55 kit, 55-250, YN-565, a few books, some software, and a desire to get good.....

In addition to whatever wide lens you get, try a fast prime like an 85 1.8 or a 50 1.4. I love my zooms for their versatility. But there are things only a fast prime can do for you.

Agreed. A Sigma 30 1.4 is on the radar after the wide lens

Since you don't have any EF-S lenses at the moment, it looks like there's an easy path into full frame. Perhaps the best way you could get a wide angle is by purchasing a 5D Mk II.

In any cases, here are some lens suggestions. My take would be to avoid EF-S lenses because you're going to have to dump them eventually.

TS-E 17 - very versatile as a tilt-shift and can be shot hand held.
Zeiss ZE 21/2.8 - world class

Other options - 8-15 fisheye or a 15 or 16 mm fisheye... just for a different look. (It's easy to stitch images together if you really want a panoramic image.)

Several cameras and more glass than I will admit to.

You know, I'd LOVE to go fullframe (yes there has been a method to my madness concerning my lens choices) but I'm shooting extreme sports more and more so unless I go with a 5dMK3, fullframe really isn't an option (I don't have the $$ for that)
