Absolutely fantastic Kenn!
Had to LOL at the headless Robin! And Missy and Ben look just as good as they always do. Only problem is that Ben always looks so stern - :)
These little cameras have gotten so good it is getting harder and harder to justify thousands for a DSLR. I just wish they'd offer RAW at this level. I still have and use my SX10IS, but it's limited to a mere 540mm equivalent on the long end.

Small sensors or not Kenn, your new camera doesn't miss a beat for your perfect backyard images...
beautiful set, the portraits are super... and always enjoy the updates on your Bluebirds...

Just a quick note to Steve (CamFan01) and anyone else for whom not having RAW would be a superzoom deal breaker...

CHDK (http://chdk.wikia.com/​wiki/CHDK (external link)) is an open source hack which does provide RAW and several other additional features such as live RGB histograms, motion-detection, time-lapse, etc. on many models of Canon small-sensor compacts, including the SX40. This code resides on the memory card and does not write directly to firmware, but provides many additional menus and options in a pretty seamless way.
