Not sure if this is known but thought some of you might be interested...

Chatting with B&H on several orders and asked when the grip would be available...

Larry C: The battery grip has started to ship. Pre-orders are being filled in the order they were received.

They were due this week, glad they are on time! I did my preorder through Adorama. Look forward to using it with this camera. I don't mind without the grip, but this new style grip just looks so dang ergonomic and comfortable (compared to past grips, very square in the hand). Plus the joystick for portrait orientation!

I pre-ordered from B&H. I have never done a pre-order before, is it safe to assume that I will get an email when they send it out?

Yes you will get an email when it ships.

I'm afraid i'm pretty far down the preorder list having preordered 03/15/2012.

Ordered mine on 3-5 which I think was about 1 day after B&H announced thier $349 price, hopefully I will get it soon (intially I wasn't going to order the grip when it was said to be $490 so I was very happy to see it going for quite a bit less). Then all I'm waiting on is my RRS L plate :-)

That's cool.. I was wondering why I got an from Adorama reminding me that the battery grip is still on backorder. Guess I didn't make the first batch.

Just heard back from B&H customer support. They claim they have not received any yet for shipment. I've had one on back order since 3/05 so I pinged them and that was the answer I got.

"Thank you for contacting the Customer Service Department at B&H Photo Video and Pro Audio.
We have not yet received any of the battery grips in stock." That was at 6:36 PM EDT
