I accept that I may be clutching at straws here, but, hell, I'll give it a go.

I'm based in Kingsley and I would love to know if there is anyone else from around these parts that would be interested in hooking up sometime for either a photo meet, a beer to discuss photography , etc, as I'm feeling pretty isolated, to be frank, and I'm yet to meet anyone from here that's into photography.

If you are out there (stranger things have happened) perhaps we could sort something as it would be an absolute pleasure to meet like-minded folks (I'm boring my wife to death talking apertures, depth of field, etc, etc).

My main interest is nature photography , but I am interested in all areas.

Are there any POTN members that are in any way near me?

Yes.

POTN is a big community and not a lot of peeps from this part of the world about.

I shoot nature and landscapes NOR if you are keen to catch up.

Had a look at your 500 sit and pretty impressive, though I wonder why you are shooting at such high ISO for what appears to be normal lighting. Still, I don't know the conditions and the situation you have with your 500 and TC's.

Was considering a 500/600 until the MKIII purchase.

Catch up in late July suits me. Might get a team together or do a shoot just together sometime then.

Sound good to me, Wayne. Definately up for a meet. (happy for you to have a go on the 500 too, if that in any way appeals).

Also, thanks for the feedback concerning my 500px. Regarding ISOs, which images are you refering too? I shoot manual and I run with ISOs I need to have to get the shot I want given conditions so pretty interested to know which images you are referring to. If its the Dragonflies, they were backlit...but not sure which ones you mean.

Anyhow, yup, would love to meet up whenever suits.

I believe Kx135 lives in the same suburb as yourself and I'm in Ballajura. We both work in the same place and we're dead keen on getting more involved. Kx135 is away on one of his many overseas junkets right now but he'll be back in a week and I'll point him here.

Late July? Sounds like a good idea. :D

Hello - nice to hear from you as well. Well, the more the merrier! Be lovely to sort a get together, and late July sounds good to me. You never know, perhaps it could turn out to be a monthly meet up, who knows.

Hey Guys I am in Perth too, that'd be cool to meet up. I am not expert by any means but it'll always be cool to meet people and discuss what we are passionate about

Hi Rhu, nice to hear from you.

Yeah, we will get something sorted, and, as said, really, the more Perth based POTN'ers the better.

Wondering what the best location for a meet would be for all concerned. I'm in Kingsley.

Do we what to meet for drinks for intros and a chat with a beer or meet straight up at another location with gear? Perhaps a meet and greet first would be good, but welcome thoughts.

Keep it casual. A counter lunch before heading to the Zoo or coffees in the city and spend an hour or two photographing the usual sights?

Sounds good to me.

What sort of date? Just wondering if a good idea to sort a date and a place so everyone knows and can plan around it.

Maybe the weekend of 21st/22nd? That gives us three weeks to decide what to do on the day. I suggest somewhere central for the first meet and see how it goes. Still, your thread so you get the final say.

I would be keen to take a few photos on the day after we meet.

Anything happening, Andrew? My 70-200 2.8 IS II has arrived and needs to get out.

In the meantime, I might head to the S.Perth foreshore tonight if it's not too cold.

Hi all,

Well, just as it looks like we are getting a good few together I have gone and fractured my ankle, so I'm with crutches and a wheelchair.

Now I'd still love to meet up, but I'm conscious that in my present situation I would doubtless prove to be a limiting factor, and thus, potentially, a right pain in the butt.

I can, and have, managed to work my kit fine from the chair, but, well, I don't want to ruin the meet if people think that's what would happen if I come (though I'd love too).

So, interested to hear thoughts on this, as we are getting a nice head of stem here and it would be a terrible shame to let this fall to the way side. I mean, if it's thought it better I dont come till I'm fixed, that's fine, no offence would be taken.

So, any thoughts chaps? This should happen with or without me.

One thing you should learn is not to go on holiday and leave your office unlocked. We've been playing with your stuff again!

Harden up, Princess. You don't drink beer with your ankle and I'm sure you can make it as far as the local Tavern. I'll pick you up if I have to. Just like you-know-what, talking about it down the pub with your mates is almost as good as doing it.

I propose a few drinks to say hello (No mixing alcohol and painkillers, Andrew) and introduce ourselves to each other while we plan our first excursion? You pick the place Andrew.

Dibs on signing the cast and photographing it after. :D
