The light stand from Paul Buff for $70 is really good for that application.

For simple use even impact 9.5 heavy duty stand for $40 (B&H) would work.

I use the TS13AC w/ my B1600 and Giant Softbox: http://paulcbuff.com/ts13ac.php (external link)

I'd recommend an air cushioned stand if you plan to use large/heavy modifiers. Your fingers will thank you. :p

Which umbrella bracket you suggest to go with this?

Depending on what you consider budget and if you are looking for something really solid or something more portable. This C-stand would be my choice but it's heavy duty and comes with a 40" arm and grip head that is very versatile for everything from short booming of strobes to holding flags or reflectors. It's one of those things that your buy it once and never need to replace it. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ster_Century_C_Stand.html (external link)

Like the above poster mentioned, the C-stand is seriously well made and heavy enough for most any application. While it is portable, it's not perfect for hauling out to a nature glamour shot 1/2 mile in the woods. If you need to boom, this is a great strong stand that will last a long time. This stand would very easily handle a AB + large softbox. Great for studio stuff but maybe not so ideal for location shoots.

Can't suggest one but give 'em a call, they're very helpful. Also they've got an excellent return policy should something not be what you had hoped.

Can't go wrong with Manfrotto's 026 bracket. Calumet has an identical replica (I believe it's about the same price).

Thanks for your quick reply....should I go with Manfrotto' light stand as well instead of Calumet?....any recommendations for a good reasonable priced light stand and umbrella (36 or 43 inches or even bigger)?

Most of Calumet's grip equipment is re-branded Manfroto. Usually a tiny bit cheaper in price but not quality.

UPS says my PBL light stands are waiting for me at home. Some people say they like them better than what Buff sells. It's this super cheap kit btw. http://www.amazon.com …a_2?qid=1334702860&sr=8-2 (external link)

Unboxed the PBL stands today. They are a bit more lightweight that I thought they would be, but very, very solidly built. Fairly wide stance too. The locks are nice heavy metal levers and collars. No wiggle from the stands with the locks applied. Now I just need my ABs to get here tomorrow so I can load the stands and see what I really think.
