#7 is perfect. This is so sad to see...there needs to be a truly international space program in the near future. If they could figure out that space doesn't need to be a race we could do so much more.

The test shuttle Enterprise is going to the Intrepid museum I do believe. So I'd think they'll take Discovery off of the 905 carried and put Enterprise back onto her to ship her to NY. I really REALLY hope they don't keep the Enterprise outside. That would invite just really terrible things to happen to her

This is an excellent series, Mike! You found the right location to shoot from.

Discovery will be unloaded from the Shuttle Carrier, and delivered to the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Center. Enterprise, which is now being "removed" from Udvar-Hazy will be mated with the 747 and flown to New York's JFK airport (weather permitting) next week. Once in New York, it will be temporarily stored at JFK for a while, then it will be transferred to the Intrepid Museum, and finally to a new, dedicated, museum facility (owned by Intrepid) in New York. (I am pretty sure that Enterprise will not be left outside for extended periods, but I don't know the exact details.)

Wow! Great pics. Very moving and sad. I've always followed the shuttle program. Post more if you got them. Would love to see. Thanks.

#7 is great. I never got the opportunity to see it fly, wish I had.

Nice photos! Your number 8 looks like it's about 10 miles from my number 1.
