5D and 400d putting in work, also 1967 Nikkormat FTn with Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f3.5, designed ironically enough by Ellis Betensky, of NASA optics fame.

Was on the Pineda Causeway with probably 500-1000 other people, for about 3 minutes the entire highway just stopped and watched it go by.

Silhouette happened completely on accident had no idea it was going that way, was expecting it to curve sooner and sharper, 70-210 f4 wasn't enough reach on a Rebel but it was for this shot.

I'd put #2 on my wall...

I think it speaks volumes (whether intentional or not.)

I concur! I see the title/caption "Riding into the sunset" on that photo ;)

Both great shots!

thanks all, I have a couple more but #2 really strikes me, I think I'm going to put that one in the prints folder for May. It was absolute being in the right place at the right time. :D

The real winner here is the fact that silhouette shot was duplicated a second earlier by the Nikkormat, on freezer-kept 25-year-old Ektar 25 film.

Sad.
What's the step for the US space program? Seems O'bummer has killed off any future US manned space exploration. I feel as if I'd be very lucky to see another US manned space program in my lifetime.
I didn't like the Ares system. It seemed a step backwards compared the the Shuttle. Now that it too has been canned where to now?

Number 2 is a beauty-think I saw it on local television yesterday, did you send it to any media?

excellent variation with the silhouette. You're fortunate to have been a part of this historical moment and have such a unique 'keep-sake' as reminder.

nope, and nothing was posted until I made this thread didn't think it would spread that fast. but if it was used......I want to know about it so I can get paid.

thanks all, goes to show you don't need expensive glass to get a good shot

#2 will definitely get the 16x24 and framing treatment.
