I just bought a 15-85mm Canon lens and it came with two B+W filters. A UV and a Circular Polarizer.

They both say F-PRO, B+W and MADE IN GERMANY on the outside.

The Polarizer only says "B+W 72 CIRCULAR-POL" on the inside.
The UV says "B+W 72 010 UV - Haze 1x."

How do I know exactly which they are (looking at B&H or Amazon)?

You purchased a UV filter, which is mainly only used as protection of the lens. I personally do not use them.

You also have a CPL, which is a great filter for cutting reflections and getting a better sky in your image.

Check out the filter FAQ at the top of the page

If the description doesn't specify "MRC", you probably have the uncoated versions of these filters. Still decent, but not as good as the multicoated (MRC) variant.

Thanks TaDa, I really wanted to find out which they were so that I could know how much to charge if I decided to sell them :)

Thanks that helps argyle.

F-Pro refers to the standard mount used by B+W, a subsidiary of Schneider Optics, widely acknowledged as an excellent manufacturer of high quality filters. There have been some changes in the construction of F-Pro mounts in the recent past. The reference to "010" is synonomous with their coding for UV or Haze filters. "72" references the filter thread diameter, ie fits on a lens requiring a 72mm wide filter. More recently all F-Pro lenses apparently are at least single coated, as denoted by reference to a SC on the filter. Other versions are MRC or, for polarizers only, Kasemann (MRC with special handling). As Argyle noted, apparently your's are older uncoated versions. Generally, multicoated versions are highly recommended.
