Whimbrel or Curlew?

Today at Ridgefiled NWR, SW Washington state. I was told it was a Curlew but I'm thinking Whimbrel. Getting closer would surely help but was not possible.

I have only seen and photographed a Whimbrel once and the beak isn't as long as on your bird. I believe this is a Long Billed Curlew but if I am wrong someone here will surely correct me

Thanks Gary - my only reference is the Audubon Field Guide and a worker at the refuge. The worker said it was a Long Billed Curlew but the eye stripes seem to be at odds with the Field Guide.

But I see your point - that is a long beak...

Def. a Curlew. From what I remember the Whimbrel has the short beak and the band through the eyes is different.
