The Tokina 35 macro has ueful AF outside. AF is generally accurate, but not as accurate or as fast in low light as my Canon 35f2. Here are some shots taken today. The flowers were handheld at f4 or f5. The shot of the runner was at ISO 800, 1/500 and about f8. Both are heavily cropped.

Have you considered a fully manual lens? You could get an old fully manual lens like an old Minolta, Olympus or Canon FD and put an adapter on it. You don't seem to need infinity focus for it.

I have an adapter for my old Pentax lenses but I don't use them much. My eyes are getting bad and what I think is in focus, usually isn't.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

So...do you still have any hair left? :)

You're just nickpicking on things....a $300 lens will not be equal to a $1400 lens. You need to watch your background and avoid those with hightlights. Many lenses, L included don't look good with them as out of focus area. Glad that you haven't tried the Zeiss 50mm, otherwise you would be bald by now. That lens has one of the worst bokeh I've seen.

If you're into food photography, have you considered a T&S lens? A 90mm TS will be great and its bokeh is one of the most pleasing.

^- My only issue with the T/S is im usually working in a restaurant and not able to setup a tripod or flash or anything... Im working in available light handheld 90% of the time

Also i have plenty of hair still.. literally tearing at it hurts

And yeah, I kinda am doing that, I basically switched over to the 28mm f/1.8 now because i think its the better of the two lenses for what im primarily using it for, Im probubly going to sell my 35mm f/2 (Its barely 2 months old... should get quite a bit for it) Which is a shame, i quite like the 35 f/2, but for closer subjects.. Yeah..the bokeh goes weird too often...

Either that or ill just use my 15-85 instead, That lens has been stuck in my bag for too long
