A recent day-trip to Yosemite, It was pretty foggy when I got there. Only Bridalveil Falls was visible at Tunnel View. I cropped it as a 4:5 at the top because it was all fog, so I chose to crop the top of the falls.

Mike, the color version is so weak in saturation and in contrast that this is an easy choice for me: I like the B&W much better. Cool shot!

I prefer the number 1 photo in this case. Was surprised that I do but just the hint of color makes it for me. For the B&W, it just seems to pop enough.

B&W - there just isn't enough color. The contrast is much much better in B&W.

It is nice. My kids had an event that morning and after that, I drove up and got there around 4pm.

I do feel sorry for those that only get one chance to go and conditions aren't optimal.

We try every year to reserve a campsite in the valley during summer, it's proving more and more difficult every year and lately have been getting nothing. Once the kids are grown we can try to go outside of the peak times of the year (which is better for photography). Looks like it will be a dry year though compared to last year.

B+W does it for me. The texture in the foreground with the trees are amazing. The thing the color is lacking is your eye doesn't go anywhere, The B+W is great because the contrast it brings out in the photo.

I prefer the colour one. The subtlety of the colour just seems to suit the foggy scene better; the BW makes it a little harsh. It's a nicely different take on a familiar view though, so you can't really lose with either one.

Yeah, like someone who only got to stay one evening and missed the 'golden half dome' sunset shot because of a small but obstinate cloud that sat right in front of the dome and just wouldn't move. :D
