Should I return my 5D3 if they don't do a recall?

I mean, if the new ones will have a thicker base under the LCD to block out the light. For the same cash. I'd prefer that over the first releases.

Mine shoots fine and all, seems a little under exposed, but I have this on my mind.

What's the return policy at Adorama anyways? It says 30 days, but is there any exclusions?

If you think it's impacting your photographs (it really shouldn't be), then return it.

I highly doubt they would create a fix going forward and not come up with a work-around if they weren't doing a recall. That just wouldn't make sense. IT's like saying 'hi everyone, thanks for rushing out and dropping $3500 on our product. We know it has a problem, and we've fixed it going forward, but we're not gonna fix yours'. It wouldn't happen.

Shutter count under 200 and like new condition within 30 days I believe.

i'd wait and see what Canon says about this, might be an issue, might not be.

^ +1. No need to be alarmed at this point.

I wouldn't return it ove the LCD issue. It's practically a non-issue anyway. If you're enjoying the camera just stick with it. If there's a serious issue, Canon will issue a recall.

Is it? 30 days usage with a shutter count of 200 on a 5D Mark III is surely impossible. I had 2000 in 2 days.

If you lose sleep over it then return it. You'll always have that worry in that back of your head every time you use your camera

We understand that this isn't a batch issue. Different parts were assembled in different factories so if you 2 bodies from the same batch, one could have the issue and one not.

The return policy is 30 days; after that it would be a Canon warranty issue.

Not returning mine no way. That leak issue to me is BS... No metering issues here at all and my LCD cover is fine and not flimsy.

My LCD cover is a solid one and doesn't produce a black mark on the LCD when pressed. As for the light leak, I honestly can't see me taking many 30 second shots with the lens cap on. I can't even be bothered to recreate the settings to see if it's going to happen with mine.
I've took about 1500 photos and had more keepers out of them than I got with the first 3000 with the 7D. Apart from the throwaway shots for testing stuff out and checking all my lenses etc I think I've actually dumped about 19 photos which have missed focus, unsharp etc.
