I'm one of the coaches for my son's 10 and under team so I tend to shoot even more shots. Here are some shots from their last game.

FYI, in my experience red uniforms and bright sun make it look like the saturation is jacked up to crazy high levels, giving that over saturated look. I have found that turning the saturation down a bit can make the reds look a little more natural and realistic.

Now if you are a big fan of the pumped up saturation with glowing reds well, then these look great. If it were me I'd test a few shots with the saturation turned down a bit, you might like it better.

I'm with you. I like extra saturation but will probably tune it down a bit before printing--I sell photobooks to the parents at the end of the season.

Thanks for everyone's comments. I love shooting sports. Problem is earning money doing it... ;)

Being a baseball coach and having had many lessons, the batters that you pictured are all having issues with dropping their back shoulders. which drops the bat, and causes pop-ups. I guarantee if you work with them on keep their hands back BEFORE the pitch comes, they'll be hitting better and more consistently. (I coach 6-14 year olds currently). Sometimes they start it by dropping their back knees.

Nice pictures though. Lucky to have good daylight.

Interesting you mention this. I actually use photos like these to illustrate certain finer points of various techniques to the kids. I use these kinds of hitting photos to show the dropping shoulder (as you mentioned). I guess great minds think alike. :)

Our home field is facing west so we get nice light for for about half the game for our 7:00 games this time of the year. :)
