Case modding is a big hobby. Not everyone wants something that looks exactly the same as what everyone else is wandering around with, and lots of people enjoy having something that they have a part in creating. Really doesn't look that hard to fully disassemble the camera to properly tape and paint.

Putting it back together after however, that is where it gets tricky.

My first thought was he did it to match a white lens... second photo proved me wrong! :D

Not really; it is pretty easy, actually. Just a few flex connectors and some screws. I've seen inside a few that I helped Dad take apart, and I even took the back plate off of one of mine!

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

True, but only assuming you didn't break anything important trying to figure out full disassembly.

Did someone ask to see a comoflauge 20D?
It probably looked good when it was done! however, it looks as if it is the worse for wear. (No, I did not do it!)
I only paid $96 for it off eBay, works great!

Yuck!

Someone needs to tell the ghost of Steve Jobs that not everything needs to be in a white chassis.

yeah, it sure does... works great, though! I assume it looked much better when it was first done. The bottom plate that has the serial number on was also removed; I dont know where it was (perhaps in Iraq on a tour with the US army?)

Its a great conversation piece, though!

Canon sells a RED T3i so what's it matter what color it is? I wouldn't do it but maybe it was going someplace hot and they were thinking the white lenses hell stay cooler so the body might as well...
