My personal experience with both is that B+W provides better optical quality. That said, I've moved away from screw in filters to the Lee Filter system. Harder to acquire all the filters you want, but if you pay attention, eventually you'll have a nice selection and the ability to stack filters. :)

My last screw-in was the B+W Kaesemann Circular Polarizer MRC filter (external link) (I had the 82mm for my Canon 16-35/2.8L II). Had a similar Hoya, but sold it to buy the B+W (before I switched to the Lee system) because I didn't like the amount of lens flare the Hoya gave (when compared to the B+W).

Again, my own personal opinion given my experiences. :)

i think i will go with the B+W

KoalaCowboy, it's for Canon sx40hs, this is my first camera i got few days ago, it's a 500$ camera (where i live in), do you think it's worth spending another 117$ for a filter, maybe in the future i will want to move forward to SLR, but for now you think it's worth the price?
thanks man

PWard, thanks for the link
