Hi D-Pearce,

Not sure if you commented on my other post about it but do you know when the GP circuit is open? I'd like to go there and take some shots in some other locations around the track without the fence in the way...

Love your shots, they are great!

I'm not as think as you confused I am..

In regards to the GP circuit click the link then under circuit it tells you GP or indy,

http://www.brandshatch.co.uk/calendar.aspx (external link). I also know that the Bemsee meet on thre 28/29 June is on the GP circuit and its not listed on that calender. If you dont want fences come down to Lydden waist high fences and shooting opportunties all round the track.

I think if you had shot in RAW you might have been able to pull out more detail in PS.

Had a quick go but as a j peg I couldn't pull much out without ruining the shot .

The engines are flat black to dump heat and the watercooling jackets are not remarkable at speed. The exhaust pipes on my Triumph bonnie glowed almost reddish orange when I was twisting the right grip. Most race engines are flat black to make it harder for the competition to ID components that might give an advantage.

Canon 60D,18-55mm,55-250mm,50mm compact macro, AF ext tubes. Sigma 8-16mm uwa, 18-250mm, 85mm F1.4, 150-500mm

Thats interesting, amazing really the lengths they go to cover certain components up especially in F1.

That's a great capture Dex! :)

If you use Lightroom you can bring out detail in the shadows using the "Shadows" slider in v4 or "Fill Light" in v3.x.

Bumping up the blacks will also help. The exposure looks like it has been increased a little as well.
