Here's a link to the product at B&H
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …V8000W_8_LCD_Monitor.html (external link)

How do you connect the camera to the unit? Does it shoot tethered via a PC and this is the display, or is there a direct connection?

It's very cool, I'd love something like this.

Kelly - EOS 5D - EOS 40D - Rebel XS - EOS 10D - EOS 1D - SX230 - AE-1 - OM-1n - Minolta Himatic7 - EOS-1N
ABR800 - Several flashes, remote triggers, stands, too many and yet not enough lenses

It's a direct connection, via the component video output. I'm looking to attach it to the camera soon , when I can figure out the proper bracket.

Btw, that's not the correct model in your link, mine's not the "w" , it's the " hd" .(not that my camera is a HD source)

I had no idea the cameras were capable of shooting tethered using the video output. Pretty much every camera Canon made in the modern DSLR era comes with a composite output cable for TV viewing, but I'd never thought it could be useful for any real purpose.

Your output is HD (component 3 plug?) rather than RCA composite, so it's probably not useful for something like my 40D.

Might need to stick with something like laptop tethering for my setup.

No, mine is composite too, my bad in the previous post, although I did say I do not have HD. Even so though, focussing is so much easier.
