I am going to buy new ballhead to Feisol CT-3442 Rapid tripod - Photo Clam PC-40NS or PC-44NS. It's for my mountain hiking with Canon 5D mk II with grip and L lenses 16-36 F2.8 or 24-70 F2.8 (and sometimes 70-200 F2.8 IS II).
I have read many threads here (also comparison https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=756768), but I am still not satisfied with findings.
What do you think about ball diameter (40 vs. 44 mm) influence to handling the camera?
Is 44 mm diameter significant improvement against to 40 mm?
What ballhead is better for my purposes?
From my point of view:
PC-40NS
- pros: smaller, lighter, legs fold back completely (touching at the ends ? - I have not seen picture)
PC-44NS
- pros: larger ball diameter - easier camera manipulation (?)
- cons: legs fold back not completely (https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=9807549&postcount=8 or http://newschoolofphotography.com …am-pc44ns.html#post534983
)
Have somebody any idea, where to buy Photo Clam stuff in Europe? (I found sellers in USA or S. Korea only.)
