Which 300 2.8

I am looking at getting a 300 2.8 but not sure which one.

Two front runners are a secondhand canon 300 which is about £1800 cheaper than a new one.

Has anyone used both of them and assuming there are what are the advantages of the new one and is it worth the extra.

Should I be considering the sigma 120-300 ?

Well if 7.2k usd is in your budget and you would use it enough to justify the price I say to for it. I went for a secondhand that was pretty much new.

Thanks, there is a secondhand one going on another forum which I am tempted by, very annoyingly they are going for the same price as they used to be new. I have a bit of a bonus which is a one off and know if I do not get one now it will be very unlikely I would be able to afford one in the future.

I agree I was frustrated too. I picked one up for abou 4100 usd and it was a barely used copy so I was ok with that. I figured new they were 4600 or so. I just couldn't justify spending the money I had allocated for the 5d just to get the mkii
