Thinking seriously about a 85mm 1.8. Can buy used for $315 on this forum, but I think for less than a hundred bucks more, I can buy new.
Any thoughts?

Personally for such a small savings I would go with a new lens. You can buy it refurbished from Canon Direct for $335.99 with a 3 month warranty. Keep in mind that if you buy new, it must be from an authorized seller for Canon or any company to honor the warranty. You can find lists of authorized internet dealers on each company's website. Canon refurb is usually a good compromise between the benefits of new and the savings of used. Even the 50mm f/1.8 is just over $100. http://www.pbase.com/goldbough

Canon is not showing any refurbs at this time. Think I'll hold out for a new or refurb. Yes, a picture really is worth a thousand words!
