Let me know what you guys think. These are from an engagement shoot. Whenever I shoot these I always tend to focus more on the bride. Im thinking I should have used a smaller aperture as he may be a bit too soft.

I think the DOF is fine on the second shot. He's not the center of attention. His lips and eyes give me the leading lines to take me to her lips.

On the first one, with his head tilted away from her, that puts a perceived distance between the pair. Do you have a shot nearby in that sequence where his head is tilted toward her?
Also in #1, is that an earring that is dangling near her left cheek? I shot some prom pictures this weekend and don't know what to do with "peek-a-boo" jewelry that is mostly obscured. I cloned a couple of bits out, but I don't know if there is a standard practice for those situations.

Image editing OK, encouraged, and expected. Thank you for helping me learn!

@cpam I guess the jewelry peeking into the picture can either be left out, unless its too distracting & there is no other jewelry visible or can be cloned, tried to do a little search on Google if there is anything about it, my search terms were not correct I guess.

I like the 2nd shot & agree about the guy in foreground leading to the lady in the background, guess would have been much better if the guy was in focus too & doesn't take too much out of the photo

Like the second one. I think the first one says nothing about wedding or engagement

Thanks for the comments everyone. The first pic was a funny moment getting ready for that second shot. The groom wants that shot on his wall because he loves her expression. My fear is he may be too soft in that picture and blowing it up bigger may not be the best idea.
