Hawk Owls in Alaska, 21 April

Here are a couple of shots of a couple of Hawk Owls that I saw yesterday. They have really been coming out up here the last few days. Excuse the blur from the close branches in the first picture, I am still relatively new to post processing my pictures and am trying to figure out how to get them out of there with lightroom.

That's an awesome looking bird. Man, would LOVE to see one of these. Thanks for sharing!

They look like a monster-sized owl too. Your 1st image is very nice regardless of the blurred branches to the left. Unfortunately the lighting was not your best friend in the 2nd image leaving a lot of the owls' face in shadow. That gives you a good reason to go back out -

I like the pose in the first shot...one of my favourite birds. They are amazing hunters and can see a vole from about 1/2 a mile/ I expect they are well into the nesting stage by now.
