Hawk Owls in Alaska, 21 April

Here are a couple of shots of a couple of Hawk Owls that I saw yesterday. They have really been coming out up here the last few days. Excuse the blur from the close branches in the first picture, I am still relatively new to post processing my pictures and am trying to figure out how to get them out of there with lightroom.

Beautiful Owl John!
They look like a monster-sized owl too. Your 1st image is very nice regardless of the blurred branches to the left. Unfortunately the lighting was not your best friend in the 2nd image leaving a lot of the owls' face in shadow. That gives you a good reason to go back out - :)

I like the pose in the first shot...one of my favourite birds. They are amazing hunters and can see a vole from about 1/2 a mile/ I expect they are well into the nesting stage by now.
