Had a great time out at Road Atlanta on Saturday. This was only my second time shooting motorcycles and my first at a real superbike race. Pretty challenging for me but I am learning every time I go out. The day started out cool and foggy as we got there early (8AM). During the morning qualifying we walked the inside of the entire 2.5 mile track (good workout). For the afternoon races we parked ourselves at the 10A/B turn outer fence.

I have many shots on Flickr and here are a few of my favorites:

Popping the wheel up coming up the hill out of the esses:

Exiting turn 10B:

Flying down the backstretch:

Down low into turn 7:

Going through the esses:

Hey that's a girl!

Zooming up the hill coming out of 10B:

Nice set. I'm jealous, that was some great action this past weekend at the 10a/b complex. Did you get a shot of Young and Hayes coming together?

No I must have missed that one. I got one guy going into the gravel but they didn't turn out too clear. That was the only crash we saw.

Thanks - my exercising is paying off. I can walk the entire track with a heavy load of camera gear without getting tired. Just wish Road Atlanta would clear some trails along the fence. Heavy brush and poison ivy forced me back to the road in places. Hope I can be one of those guys on the outside of the track someday. As we were headed back to our car from spectator hill one of the staff motioned us over and said we could walk down and shoot from a platform inside the catch fence. But at that point we were hungry and qualifying was over. Guess it helps to have a cute woman (my wife) with me!

love your shots and composition, my personal preference would just be a post processing with less contrast and less blown out whites...but that's just personal preference. Good work!

Thanks for the feedback! Now that I look at them again I see what you mean. Funny how after a couple of days you notice things you didn't while processing them. I need to go back and review my Lightroom processing settings. I'm still getting used to the different exposure controls in Lightroom v4.

I think my perception of what looks good changes every time I go out to shoot  I'm always messing with my LR settings, haha
