Before

There was a car show in a western suburb Sunday.
Great looking cars but really iffy backgrounds.

Here is one comparison. Not hard to determine which is before.
Actually, the before already has quite a bit of Lightroom slider adjustments.
This was shot with a Fuji X-Pro-1 with 18-55mm zoom.

I'm afraid I can't show you a before since this was done 'in camera'. The date, March, 1959 and I was 14 years old. This was shot using a Kodak Brownie if I recall.

As you can see, I needed a lot more practice.

Too bad Photoshop didn't exist then...or home computers for that matter! I didn't have my first darkroom until I was 26, about 12 years after I took the photo above.

Here's my first composite. It was done the same year, 1959. If I recall this was made up of three cutouts I did from Disney comics I had on hand and reassembled on the sidewalk. Funny, you'd think with over 54 years of dabbling in photography, I'd be getting pretty good at it...obviously, I'm a slow learner.

Everybody knows you're pretty darned good at it.

Nice insight navy doc. Having got into photography in the digital era I sometimes forget about what was done pre-digital

This is more of an artsy/experimental portrait I did a wee while back. It's a composite made up of a few of my images.

The bokeh is mostly from some glitter shots taken months previously, the starry sky shot was taken last year. My little sister posed for the other shots the weekend prior to making this

My main photography tends to be underwater and are shot in jpeg out of a little Gopro hero. As such I had to learn to use lightroom as without PP every image taken with such basic tools in such a harsh environment come out awful.

I am no PP master - but I am getting there slowly but surely.
